City Hall searches for outstanding women
The City Government is now searching for nominees of The Outstanding Women of Iloilo City (TOWIL) 2017 until March 1.
The awardees will be cited in a ceremony at SM City on March 24 in celebration of National Women's Month.
"We continue to recognize women who have made major impact and contribution and have given pride and honor to Iloilo City," said Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog.
The initiative is organized under the City Hall's Gender and Development (GAD) Program, together with the Committee on Women and Family Relations of City Council and GAD team.
Accomplished nomination forms and 10-page write up of accomplishments of nominees should be submitted to the City Population Office on or before the deadline.
The TOWIL award focuses on 15 categories including Judicial Service; Differently-abled Persons; Protective Services; Religious Services; Professional Services; Academe; Volunteerism and Community Services; Culture and Arts; Math, Science and Technology; Business; NGO and Civic Organization; Media; Government Services; Philanthropic Works; and Sports.
The criteria cover women empowerment and achievements with 60 percent, leadership skill with 20 percent and commitment with 20 percent.
TOWIL aims to give due recognition to the women who have manifested exemplary performance in their particular field of profession that significantly contributed to the city's development.
Announcement of winners will be done 10 days prior the awarding rites. (Iloilo City PIO)
