City Hall Children's Learning Center cites 28 kids
The Iloilo City Government Children's Learning Center held its 5th Recognition and Moving up exercises for 28 daycare kids during a ceremony March 31.
"This is our way of giving recognition and acknowledging the efforts of children for attending the classes as well as their parents," said Mary Ann Ramos, head of City Population Office, who also supervises the facility.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog was pleased that the initiative was among the City Government's best practices showcased before the delegates of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) during their recently-concluded socio-cultural meeting in the metropolis.
The Center offers two programs including Pre K-1 and Pre K-2 and serves children of City Hall employees to improve productivity of their parents.
The Pre K-1 caters to children ages three years old up to three years old and 11 months while the Pre K-2 is for children ages four years old up to four years old and 11 months.
Ramos said the lessons taught to children were based on the manual of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) even as the center is accredited by the Bureau of Standards. (Iloilo City PIO)
